Who is REALLY running America?

For a long time, probably back to the early days,  the employees of the bureaus have had a great impact on the way our government  operated.  Over time they became, what we call, bureaucrats as it became clear to thinking Americans that they  pretty much did things and made things happen much as they chose. They were a relatively substantial but mostly innocuous  influence on our daily lives.
But beginning in the 1960’s things began to change. Lobbyists learned that they could help to meet their clients expectations communicating and influencing the  bureaucrats. The bureaucrats acted to increase their influence on government operations to increase their new found elevated status with the lobbyists.
This was the beginning of the “establishment” (elected officials, their staffs, the bureaucrats, and the lobbyists).
Observing this growing influence the media joined the fray.  They too having observed the power of the lobbyists wanted a piece of the… Read the rest

Introduction

The Fediverse* is a portmanteau of two words “federation” and “universe” It is a common name for federated social networks running on free open software on a myriad of servers across the world. It has more than 6,000 sites and more than three million users. The platforms include Mastodon, Diaspora, Ploroma, Friendica, Matrix, WordPress, and others. This is one on the WordPress platforms. Every posting can be viewed by Fediverse users. You become a citizen of the Fediverse when you post here.

While the posts will tend to discuss U.S. social/political issues the overriding purpose of this blog is to demonstrate and refine wordpress integration into the Fediverse.

This site is dedicated to CIVIL dialog. It has zero tolerance for uncivil behavior of any kind.

Come here read, write, and join the dialog. Remember to be civil. Disagreement is fine unpleasantness is forbidden.

What appears here is what I and the commentators think not necessarily what is.

What is a Civil Society?

What is civility?

Although the traditional dictionary definition of civility rests simply on politeness and courtesy, civility is generally interpreted very broadly, covering the interactions and relationships of all individuals, groups, and organizations in society, including government and business.

At the simple and most basic level, civility governs direct interactions between two individuals, whether they are related, friends, colleagues, or complete strangers who may or may not have anything in common.

At the larger and more comprehensive level, civility governs our attitudes towards all other members of society, especially those with whom we have no direct interactions or much in the way of common interests, as well as interactions between individuals and groups, organizations, institutions, and all levels of government and business as well. #uspolitics

Civility

Civility is about more than just politeness, although politeness is a necessary first step. It is about disagreeing without disrespect, seeking common ground as a starting point for dialogue about differences, listening past one’s preconceptions, and teaching others to do the same. Civility is the hard work of staying present even with those with whom we have deep-rooted and fierce disagreements. It is political in the sense that it is a necessary prerequisite for civic action. But it is political, too, in the sense that it is about negotiating interpersonal power such that everyone’s voice is heard, and nobody’s is ignored. And civility begins with us.

The “Deep State” has been with us for a long time

The Deep State[the establishment] has been running our country for at least 30 years. It was George H W Bush  that came out of closet and publicly announced the dawn of the “new world order” a long term objective of the globalists, a cabal, that have penetrated the permanent D.C. bureaucracy, the media, higher education, and most elected people. It has taken decades to reach the point where all but one of Democrat contenders are publicly signed on to one world-ism and it will take decades to roll it back. #uspolitics
